Title: Neanderthals
Format: (1 x 60′)
Genre: Anthropology

The Neanderthals are one of the most unique, successful and fascinating human groups to have enriched the history of our genus. They inhabited Europe for about two hundred thousand years and had a physiology that was well adapted to harsh, cold conditions. Their extinction is linked to the arrival of modern humans to Europe. After ten thousand years of coexistence, however, one species eventually had to succumb to the other. It was the Neanderthals that were the losing species. Was it us, today’s species of humans, that caused the Neanderthals to die out? Or was their extinction a natural consequence of changing environmental conditions? The documentary entitled “Neanderthals: The End of an Age”, gives us an insight into this long forgotten age that has left very few traces of itself.
